Description
So, I am approaching the last stages of this sculpture. I am working on the surface finish, aka the scales and such, which makes the progress appear really, really slow, but it's those details that matter in the end. And since I don't like to just slather on details in an uncoordinated fashion to simply make it look busy, this process takes a good portion of patience.
But it's definitely worthwhile!
I used some Cx5 (s) reinforced with a bit of aluminum mesh where the wings go into the torso and covered it up with Monster Clay for texturing, hoping that when I cut it apart this will hold up and not deform so it'll all fit back together nice and easy later when cast in resin. If I had done it with Monster Clay and mesh only, chances are it would get a bit hairy to keep the wing in the exact shape it needs to be, especially with the temperatures we've got going on at the moment.
